Which employers actually move people who already hold an H-1B. Search 74,134 employers by name, place or industry, and see how many change of employer petitions each one got approved.
The USCIS field "Change of Employer Approval". It counts people already on an H-1B who moved to that employer and were approved. If you hold an H-1B now, this is the column that tells you whether a company has done your situation before.
A big total is usually cap subject lottery hiring. That says nothing about whether a company will take on an existing H-1B holder mid year. Plenty of large sponsors show huge totals and almost no transfers.

The USCIS H-1B Employer Data Hub, fiscal year 2025 and fiscal year 2026 extracts, 111,910 filing records in total. Rows for the same employer in different cities are grouped, and employers are matched across the two years on a normalised name plus tax ID. Every petition count from both files is preserved. Nothing is estimated or modelled.
FY2026 is a partial year and comes in at roughly two thirds of FY2025 across all twelve petition columns, so a lower FY2026 number is not evidence of decline. Use FY2026 to see who is filing recently, both years to see who does it consistently. An employer that transferred people in both years has a repeatable process. An employer with one good year may have moved one person once.
Employers are scored 0 to 4 on how much they look like a staffing or IT services firm, using the share of petitions that are amended, the industry code, staffing vocabulary in the legal name, and a list of well known services and staffing brands. Amended petitions usually mean worksite changes, which is what happens when a firm places people at client sites. Firms like Cognizant, Synechron, LTIMindtree, Capgemini, HCL, Wipro and Kforce run amended shares from 31 to 67 percent. Product companies run far lower: OpenAI 2 percent, NVIDIA 5, Anthropic 6, Google 7, Microsoft 8.
Note that a high transfer share is not a staffing tell. OpenAI runs 66 percent transfers and Anthropic 59 percent, and both are product companies that simply hire experienced people mid career. Note also that pure placement firms which rarely amend can slip through, so Direct means "no red flag found", not "verified product company". This is a heuristic, not a fact about any company.
The H-1B numerical cap does not apply to an institution of higher education, a nonprofit related to or affiliated with one, or a nonprofit or governmental research organisation. A government employer is not exempt just for being government. USCIS does not publish exempt status in these files, so this column is inferred from the employer name and industry code. Likely means the name reads as a university, research institute, national laboratory or well known nonprofit academic medical centre. Possible means a hospital, clinic, foundation, school or government body, or an education or health care industry code. Known for profit operators such as HCA, Grand Canyon and University of Phoenix are excluded despite their names.
Affiliation with a university is a legal test about the relationship between two entities that no name pattern can detect, so treat Likely as a question to ask a recruiter, never as settled. Note also that cap exempt status matters mainly to someone who needs a new cap number. If you have already been counted against the cap, an employer of any kind can generally file a change of employer petition for you at any time of year.
Because this dataset does not contain them, and no amount of work will change that. Tools that filter by wage, seniority level, SOC occupation group or prevailing wage are built on a different federal file: the Department of Labor's LCA disclosure data. An LCA is the wage and worksite filing an employer makes before petitioning USCIS, so it carries salary, job title and skill level, but it records intent to sponsor rather than an approved petition. Employers routinely file more LCAs than they use.
This page uses the USCIS Employer Data Hub instead, which records what USCIS actually approved and denied, broken out by petition type. That is why it can tell you whether a company has really moved an existing H-1B holder onto its payroll, and why it cannot tell you what the job paid. The two files answer different questions and are worth using together.
Both react to every filter above. The bars rank the top 15 employers by transfers in for whatever you have selected, and clicking one loads that employer. The map shades each state by transfers into that state and stays fully visible when a state is selected, so you can compare and switch. Clicking a selected state clears it.
